BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - Chicago State sprinter Sanaa Parker (Bellwood, Ill) was named NEC Women's Track Athlete of the Week after a good showing at the Blue Demon Alumni Classic. It is her first NEC honor this season.
Parker, who ran the 60m and 200m, posted two top 5 times in the final. In the 60m, Parker ran a 7.72 good for third place while in the 200m she ran a 24.93 also placing her in third place.
The Illinois native has three top-five times in the NEC this indoor season including the No. 2 times in the 60m (7.62) and 200m (24.81).
Parker and her teammates will head to the NEC Indoor Championships this weekend. The Cougars will run on Sunday and Monday in Staten Island, N.Y. at the Ocean Breeze Track and Field Athletic Complex. Â
