Rachel Whyte Named NEC Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - Freshman Rachel Whyte who earned Most Outstanding Rookie performer at the NEC Indoor Championships, was named NEC Rookie of the Week for her performance at the Tennessee Invitational.

The Brampton, Ontario native ran a 24.22 in the 200m and took 17th place in the field and placed fourth in the 400m with a time of 56.07. Whyte's time in the 200m tops the NEC this outdoor season and her time in the 400m ranks third.

Teammate Lena Cleveland was slo named to the NEC Prime Performers list for jumping a 5.87m in the long jump, which tops the NEC this outdoor season.

The Cougars are headed to the Ball State Invitational this weekend.
