Chicago State Begins Search for Head Football Coach

CHICAGO  – Chicago State University (CSU) has officially launched a search for its first football coach.

"We are excited to reach this milestone in our football planning. Hiring a coach will give this program a face and bring us one step closer to D-1 football on the South Side," said Dr. Monique Carroll, Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at CSU. "Our ideal candidate is a leader who understands what it takes to build a program from scratch, and who can help create a clear vision for Cougar football." CSU has retained Renaissance Search & Consulting (RSC), under the direction of Founder and CEO Herb Courtney, to lead the search, with a goal to make the hire this spring.

In 2023, the university established an initial fundraising goal of $4 million to support overall sports expansion, with an emphasis on women's athletics as well as football. More information about the fundraising campaign and how to donate can be found on the CSU Sports Expansion page.
