The Cougars are coming off a road loss at North Carolina A&T, paced by several top performances.
Defensively, LB
Armani Itote was named NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Football co-Defensive Player Of The Week. Itote made 10 tackles with 3.0 sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss, and is the second CSU player to earn conference honors (LB
Lesroy Tittle vs. Norfolk State).
On offense, QB
Ashton Pannell threw a pair of touchdown passes last week and now has 13 on the season. His steady play for the Cougars has earned national recognition as Pannell was named to the Jerry Rice Award watch list, honoring the top player in FCS football. He is second in the conference in total offense (234.9 ypg), passing yards (1,564), passing yards per game (223.4), and passing TDs (13). Pannell leads the NEC in completion percentage (62.0%) and is fourth in passing efficiency (129.0).
This is the second time CSU has faced an OVC team, as the Cougars played at UT Martin on Sept. 5. Lindenwood (2-4 overall, 2-1 OVC) is coming off a 20-13 road win at Eastern Illinois.
