CHICAGO - The Chicago State Cougars (2-17, 2-2 NEC) delivered an emphatic performance on their home court, defeating Le Moyne 88-72 in a commanding display on January 18, 2025, at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center. With their second win of the season, Chicago State showed resilience and determination, setting the tone early and never looking back.
From the opening tip, the Cougars controlled the game, shooting an impressive 66.7% from the field in the first half, including 6-of-9 from beyond the arc. Their balanced attack, led by Jalen Forrest's stellar 24-point, 8-rebound effort, allowed Chicago State to establish a 46-39 halftime lead. Forrest's versatility and efficiency were complemented by strong contributions from Gabe Spinelli, who tallied 14 points, 7 assists, and 5 steals, showcasing his ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor.
Chicago State's bench played a pivotal role, outscoring Le Moyne's reserves 38-18. The Cougars capitalized on second-chance opportunities, grabbing 13 offensive rebounds and converting them into 13 points. CJ Delancy and Noble Crawford provided the defensive anchor, combining for 11 rebounds and 18 points, while Dailliss Cox chipped in with 6 points and 4 rebounds to solidify the interior.
