Chicago State University's men's basketball team has unveiled its 2024-25 season schedule, featuring a challenging slate of games both at home and on the road. With a strong non-conference lineup and the Northeast Conference (NEC) debut, the Cougars are primed for a competitive season as they build momentum under head coach Scott Spinelli.
The Cougars open the season against cross-town rival Loyola Chicago on November 4, setting the tone for a challenging start. Following their home opener against Youngstown State on November 9, Chicago State will face a tough road trip, at Texas on November 12 and at San Francisco on November 16.
The team's early non-conference schedule also includes road games at Wisconsin (Nov. 30) and a mid-December road stretch at St. Louis (Dec. 8) and Mercer (Dec. 15). The Cougars will close out their non-conference slate with a visit to Illinois on December 29th before diving into NEC competition.
Chicago State's NEC journey begins on the road with matchups at Wagner (Jan 3) and LIU (Jan. 5), before hosting Stonehill in their conference home opener on January 12. The Cougars will wrap up the regular season on the road, taking on Mercyhurst February 27 and Saint Francis March 1, setting the stage for the NEC postseason.
"This year's schedule presents a fantastic opportunity for our team to compete against top programs while preparing for our debut in the NEC," Spinelli said. "We're excited to face these challenges and get back into conference play after two seasons as an independent."
