Chicago State University Announces History Making First Football Signing Class on National Signing Day

Chicago, Ill. — Chicago State University made history today, officially unveiling the first football signing class in school history. On a landmark National Signing Day for the Cougars, CSU introduced 55 foundational student-athletes who will form the core of the university's inaugural football program.

The class represents a coast-to-coast recruiting effort, bringing together talent from across the country to build a program rooted in opportunity, competitiveness, and long-term vision. With a blend of size, speed, leadership, and positional versatility, this first wave of signees marks a defining moment in Chicago State's athletic evolution.

"Today is more than a signing day — it's the beginning of a legacy," said program leadership. "These young men chose to make history. They are the first to wear Chicago State across their chests on the football field, and they will forever be remembered as the foundation of Cougar Football."
