The Chicago State men's golf team placed fifth at the PGA Works Men's Championship which concluded today at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Verde, Florida. The Cougars
Pablo Riveiro finished in a four-way tie for fourth with a +10 226, two shots behind the third-place finisher and three behind the runner up. Marcus Taylor of Florida A&M was the individual medalist with a 218 and the Rattlers had three golfers in the top five and claimed the team title by 29 strokes.
CSU finished just three strokes from finishing third as North Carolina A&T, Prairie View A&M and Chicago State jostled for position during the final round. Riveiro shot three rounds in the 70s while
Zack Phelps claimed the round of the tournament for the Cougars, a 2-under 70 during the second round.
