Pablo Riveiro Named to the 2023-24 All-OVC Newcomer Team

The Ohio Valley Conference announced today that Chicago State junior golfer Pablo Riveiro has been named to the 2023-24 All-OVC Newcomer Team. Riveiro is in his first season competing for the Cougars following two years at Division II Emmanuel University. Riveiro has been CSU's most consistent golfer during the 2023-24 campaign with the top overall scoring average on the team of 72.77, averaging 72.81 during the fall and 72.72 during the spring. He has eight top 10 finishes out of 11 events this year with six top five finishes and a win at the 38th Thomas W. Dortch Jr. HBCU Golf Classic where he shot a season-low 66 in the final round.

The Cougars are currently competing at the 2024 OVC Men's Golf Championship where Chicago State sits in 11th after the first round with rounds two and three scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, respectively. The top four teams will then advance to match play on Wednesday, with semifinals in the morning and the championship match in the afternoon.

About Chicago State Athletics
Chicago State University sponsors 16 Division I intercollegiate athletic teams and competes in the Northeast Conference (effective July 2024) with the exception of men's and women's tennis who will compete in the Horizon League during the 2024-25 season.
