Chicago State University Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Monique Carroll accepted head men's basketball coach Gerald Gillion's resignation. Gillion was 31-64 (.326) in three seasons at Chicago State where he authored the Cougars first win over a team ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 and oversaw CSU's first-ever Division I postseason victory.
"We appreciate coach Gillion's contributions to Chicago State's men's basketball program," Dr. Carroll said. "He elevated our program and we will conduct an immediate national search and find candidates who will continue that upward momentum."
Chicago State will begin a national search for its next head men's basketball coach immediately with the assistance of Renaissance Search and Consulting (RSC).
