CHICAGO, Ill. - Chicago State University Athletics mourns the passing of former Cougar great Michael "Tank" Eversley (1956–2026).
A standout for the Cougars from 1974–1978 and a 1978 Chicago State alumnus, Eversley was known for his strength, versatility, and competitive spirit. His outstanding career led to his selection by the Chicago Bulls in the 1979 NBA Draft, while his greatest legacy was the impact he made as an educator, mentor, and role model throughout his life.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Eversley family, friends, teammates, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
