Pedro Alvarez Pushes Win Streak to 12 as Cougars Men’s Tennis Fall to Youngstown State 6-1

Box Score Pedro Alvarez earned a hard-fought three-set win (5-7, 6-4, 10-5) to push his win streak to 12 and his overall record to 15-2 in a 6-1 loss at Youngstown State Saturday afternoon at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center in Youngstown, Ohio. The Cougars dropped the doubles point and went 1-2 in three-set matches to fall to 0-3 in Horizon League play.

"We didn't start doubles as sharp as we would have liked," head coach Jack Barton said. "In singles we put up a good fight, but we started letting the uncontrollable circumstances get the best of us. We have to put our heads down and play hard and block out all the things we can't control."

Compete results listed below.

The Cougars will be back on the court tomorrow, Sunday, March 24, traveling to Cleveland State to face the Vikings at 9 a.m. at the Medical Mutual Tennis Center.
