Pedro Alvarez Earns Eighth Straight Victory as Cougars Fall to Montana State 5-2 in Men’s Tennis

Box Score Chicago State senior Pedro Alvarez earned his eighth straight victory at No. 1 singles in a 5-2 loss to Montana State Tuesday afternoon at H-F Racquet and Fitness in Homewood. Alvarez ran his record to 11-2 in the loss with a straight set 6-2, 6-2 win. Teammate Zak Radziwillowicz earned the Cougars other win, picking up a 7-6 (7-3), 7-5 victory at No. 3 singles.

"I don't think we started at the level we needed to in doubles," head coach Jack Barton said. "We didn't stick to the fundamentals we were doing in the last few matches and it caught up to us today. In singles, we started well on the top three courts and at No. 6, but we couldn't maintain the momentum on courts two and six."
