Chicago State Women’s Golf Captures Tournament Title at The Starks Invitational

Cougars Earn Seven-Stroke Victory over Host Tennessee State

The Chicago State women's golf team earned a seven-stroke team victory over Tennessee State to earn the tournament title at The Starks Invitational at the Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tennessee. The two-day event concluded this afternoon with the Cougars adding three strokes to its four-stroke lead to finish with a seven-shot advantage. Montserrat Ramirez Bayardo paced the Cougars with a two-round 157 to finish third overall while teammate Koranis Boonmadee shot the second lowest round of the day and tournament with a 73 to finish fourth. Gia Lamba finished fifth with a 159, followed by Aarushi Bhanot who finished sixth with a 162 and Catherine Swiercz finished seventh with a 171. Ramirez Bayardo, Boonmadee and Lamba earned all-tournament team honors.

The Cougars will be back on the course April 2-3 at the Women in Golf Tournament at the Golf Club at Cinco Ranch in Katy, Texas.
