Wesley Cardet and Cameron Jernigan scored 16 points, Jahsean Corbett added 15Â and Brent Davis 12 in a men's basketball 86-73 loss against the Eastern Kentucky Colonels on Wednesday night in Richmond, Kentucky.
Throughout the first half, both teams traded buckets which led to a tight scoring affair as the Colonel's managed to edge the Cougars with a 22-20 lead. It was at this point that Eastern Kentucky gained momentum and never looked back as they went into the half with a 19-point lead at 52-33.
For the second half, although the Cougars managed to inch closer, the Colonel's early first half lead was enough to seal the victory as Chicago State fell short despite four players scoring in double-figures with a final score of 86-73.
The Cougars next return home to the Jones Convocation Center on February 19Â as they take on IU Northwest at 1:00 p.m. in the 2023-24 season finale.
