Christopher M. Calhoun Jr., Named Assistant Director for Student Athlete Success

Chicago native Christopher M. Calhoun Jr., has been named Assistant Director for Student Athlete Success at Chicago State.
 
Calhoun brings a diverse background in mentorship, player/student-athlete development and strategic operations to his role. With a foundation in exercise science and a passion for empowering student-athletes, he has cultivated expertise in marketing strategy, recruitment and stakeholder engagement.
 
Calhoun comes to Chicago State from Brand B Sports where he led high-impact campaigns for Fortune 100 clients. Prior to that role he served as a  director of basketball operations intern at Jackson State University where he leveraged analytics and mentorship to drive team success. His experience also includes developing recruitment strategies, coordinating player development programs and executing large-scale brand marketing initiatives.
 
A proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Christopher has been recognized as a TMCF Scholar and was honored as the Fifth Mr. Jackson State University, reflecting his dedication to academic and community excellence.

About Chicago State Athletics
Chicago State University sponsors 16 Division I intercollegiate athletic teams and competes in the Northeast Conference with the exception of men's and women's tennis who will compete in the Horizon League during the 2024-25 season. CSU's athletic program includes over 150 student-athletes that compete in basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, indoor and outdoor track, triathlon and volleyball.
