Box Score The Chicago State volleyball team overcame a slow start to rally for a 3-1 win over LIU Friday afternoon at the Jacoby Dickens Center in Chicago in the first round of the NEC Volleyball Tournament. The Cougars fell behind 20-13 in the first game but rallied for an eventual 21-21 tie, turned away two set points only to have two of their own set points thwarted en route to a 29-27 Game 1 loss. The determination of that rally carried CSU through the next three games as Chicago State won 25-21, 25-16 and jumped out to a 14-7 lead in Game Four before closing the match out 25-19 for the 3-1 win.
Patrycja Lagida, who was named the NEC Player of the Year, led all players with 25 kills and

Andrea Calderon led all players with 30 digs and
Wiktoria Zagumny had 52 assists.
Julieta Sandez had seven blocks.
Karly Klaer had 10 kills, 27 digs and two assists.Â
With the victory, the top-seeded Cougars advance to Saturday's championship match against the winner of the second semifinal between #2 FDU and #3 Saint Francis.
