Chicago State University Unveils Cutting-edge SkyTrak Golf Simulator

Donor Dee Robinson Reveals Plans to Provide Teams with Clubs, Uniforms and Scholarships

Chicago State University is thrilled to announce the unveiling of a state-of-the-art SkyTrak golf simulator along with a significant financial pledge from athletic department donor Dee Robinson. This exceptional addition is set to revolutionize training for both the men's and women's golf teams while Dee's contribution will provide a club fitting, sets of clubs for simulator use along with uniforms and scholarships for the programs.

This innovative technology will provide student-athletes with a dynamic and immersive training experience, enhancing their skills and elevating the competitiveness of the Chicago State golf teams.

The unveiling ceremony, which was a surprise for the golf teams, was attended by university supporter Dee Robinson, Board of Trustees Chair Andrea Zopp, President Z Scott, VP/AD Dr. Monique Carroll, Executive Director of CSU Foundation Melanie Sillas, Coach Mark Haines, and other distinguished guests, and showcased the simulator's capabilities. The event underscored the university's dedication to fostering excellence in both academics and athletics.

Addressing the team, Robinson exclaimed "Never compare yourself to anyone. Remain your authentic self and don't be scared to ask for what you want."

CSU VP/AD Dr. Monique Carroll expressed excitement for the simulator, stating, "This addition reflects the commitment of our community to the success and well-being of our student-athletes. The golf simulator will undoubtedly contribute to the overall excellence of our university's athletic programs."

Mark Haines, Chicago State's golf coach, is excited about the opportunities the simulator brings. "This addition will allow our golf teams to refine their techniques, analyze play and prepare for competitions with unparalleled precision. It marks a significant milestone in advancing our training methods."

Chicago State University extends its sincere appreciation to Dee Robinson for her transformative impact of her donation while the golf simulator stands as a testament to the commitment to our student-athletes to reach new heights.

Chicago State University Athletics is composed of 15 intercollegiate teams involving over 150 student-athletes that compete in basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, indoor and outdoor track and volleyball. CSU held memberships in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and NCAA Division II before transitioning to NCAA Division I in 1994.
