The Chicago State women's soccer team suffered a 2-1 loss to the Bellarmine Knights Sunday afternoon in Louisville despite Hannah Bennet bagging her first goal on the season.
In the first half, the Knights came out and took over offensively as they produced several chances which led to two consecutive goals as they led 2-0 early in the match.
The Cougars attempted to get back into the match but we're shutout by the Knights as they held on to their 2-0 lead at the break.
To start the second half, Chicago State flipped the switch as
Hannah Bennett struck in a goal to get the Cougars back in it trailing only by one at 2-1 with plenty of play left in the second half.
Nonetheless, the Cougars fell short as the Knights held their ground and sealed the win at 2-1.
The Cougars come back home on Friday to take on Detroit Mercy at 7 PM.
