Men's Soccer Suffers 7-1 Loss Against Liberty

The Chicago State men's soccer team suffered a 7-1 loss at Liberty University Thursday night in the Cougars Ohio Valley Conference opener.  Arafath Ouro-Gnao provided the highlight for CSU, scoring his first goal on the season.

In the first half, the Flames came out dominating as they quickly fired in a goal at the 10-minute mark. Liberty went on to score three more in the half to lead 4-0 heading into the break.

To start the second half, the Cougars retaliated to open up their scoring as Ouro-Gnao slotted one in for his first goal of the season to cut into the Liberty lead but still trailed 4-1.

The Flames continued the offensive pressure and proceeded to score three more goals with one earned from the penalty spot as Liberty took the victory with a dominant 7-1 score.

The Cougars will continue Ohio Valley Conference play as they head home on Sunday against the University of the Incarnate Word at 1 p.m. at Gwendolyn Brooks College Prep in Chicago.
