CSU Men’s Tennis Team Competes at Bellarmine Invitational

The Chicago State men's tennis team competed in the two-day Bellarmine Invitational Friday and Saturday at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex in Louisville, Kentucky. Competing teams included Eastern Illinois, UIC and host Bellarmine. Pedro Alvarez and Max Sandoval teamed for a doubles win against Eastern Illinois and both earned singles wins against the Panthers.

"Friday, I wasn't happy with their fight in the latter part of our matches," head coach Jack Barton said. "We didn't take ownership of our play and we blamed external factors as to why things weren't working. It affected our body language and self talk when we got down and couldn't get out of our own way.

"Today was a lot better. We competed hard from start to finish so I think they did some self reflection from the previous day and decided that they would fight to the end and that's what I saw out of them."

Compete results listed below.

The Cougars will be off for a month before completing their fall schedule on October 20-21 at the Purdue Northwest Fall Invitational at the Park Forest Racquet Club in Park Forest, Illinois.
