Chicago State volleyball completed a 3-0 sweep over Jacksonville State Friday night at the Jones Convocation Center as
Yanlis Feliz tallied eleven kills,
Patrycja Lagida racked up five aces and
Wiktoria Zagumny dished out 27 assists.
First Set - Chicago State 25, Jacksonville 21
• Starting off, both teams managed to keep up with another leading to a tight 9-9 score
• The Cougars went on an 8-3 run due to several errors by Jacksonville and a kill from Feliz to go up 17-12
• Chicago State was able to maintain momentum and rode it to a set victory, sealed off with an error by Jacksonville as the Cougars won 25-21 and went up 1-0
Second Set - Chicago State 25, Jacksonville 20
• Jacksonville came out with a quick two kills to go up 2-0
• The Cougars answered with a 10-0 run featuring kills from Feliz and
Mesalina Severino
• Early momentum carried the Cougars to the victory as
Berenice Almeyda fired a kill to win 25-20 and go up 2-0 with the chance at a sweep
Third Set - Chicago State 25, Jacksonville 21
• Jacksonville State came out with a 5-1 run to lead early
• The Cougars retaliated with a 7-2 run with kills from Feliz and Lagida, along with a service ace from Severino to go up 8-7
• Jacksonville fought back with another 5-1 run to retake the lead 11-9
• The Cougars bounced back with a 10-4 run to inch closer to victory with a score of 19-15
• Chicago State maintained their lead and sealed the victory with a ferocious kill from Almeyda to complete the sweep 3-0
The Cougars continue their Windy City Classic run tomorrow as they face off against Southeast Missouri State at 2 PM at the Jones Convocation Center.
