Freshmen Jacqueline Tamayo scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season in Chicago State's 5-1 loss at Valparaiso Thursday night.
The Beacons controlled the game offensively from the opening whistle and managed to convert three quick goals in the span of 15 minutes to go up 3-0 early in the half.
The Cougars managed to slow the Beacons offensively and trailed 3-0 at the break.
The Beacons continued their pressure to start the second half and scored two quick goals within five minutes to push the advantage to 5-0.
The Cougars managed to convert a goal on a Tamayo header off a corner kick, her fourth on the season, but it would get no closer and the Beacons earned the 5-1 win.
The Cougars will next face off against Bellarmine University on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Louisville, KY.
