The Chicago State men's basketball team had their three-game win streak halted with a 66-60 setback at Delaware State Tuesday night at Bayhealth Court at Memorial Hall in Dover, Delaware. The Hornets built an early 12-point lead as Chicago State suffered from a cold-shooting stretch, hitting just two of their first 11 shots, but came back to tie at the 2:26 mark before taking a three-point lead into the locker room at halftime. The Cougars maintained the lead for much of the second half but a 9-0 Delaware State run turned a Cougars lead into a deficit and ultimately a six-point loss.
Jahsean Corbett led all scorers with 18 points and recorded a game-high 10 rebounds for his second consecutive and team-leading 10th double-double of the season. Wesley Cardett was the only other Cougars player in doubles figures with 11 points.
The Cougars will be back on the court, at home, Saturday, February 11 at 2 p.m. against the Saint Xavier Cougars at the JCC where Chicago State is a perfect 5-0 this season. Saint Xavier is 20-5 this season and will play at Cardinal Stritch Wednesday before facing CSU Saturday.
