Chicago State head men's basketball coach Gerald Gillion was recognized as the Coach of the Week by ESPN's Jeff Borzello following wins at No. 25 Northwestern and at Valparaiso during the week of December 11-17. The win over Northwestern was the Cougars first over a ranked team then Chicago State overcame a nine-point deficit in the final four minutes, scoring the last 10 points of the game, including the game winner with 2.8 seconds remaining.
Chicago State will be back in action with a pair of home games this week, hosting former Western Athletic Conference foe UTRGV tonight at then Bethune-Cookman on Wednesday, December 20. Both games are at 7 p.m. at the Jones Convocation Center in Chicago. The Cougars will wrap up the week against Wisconsin at the Kohl Center in Wisconsin Friday, December 22 at 7 p.m.
