Jose Ibarra Named Ohio Valley Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week in Men’s Soccer

Chicago State's Jose Ibarra was named Ohio Valley Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week in men's soccer following a week where the Cougars split a pair of shoutout matches, earning a 2-0 win over Liberty Thursday before falling to Lindenwood 1-0 this past Sunday. Ibarra played 81 minutes in the shutout victory over the Flames and was a part of a team effort which shut down a team which had just delivered a 7-1 setback the previous week. Ibarra played all 90 minutes Sunday against Lindenwood and helped limit the Lions to seven shots with the lone goal of the match coming in the 60th minute.

The Cougars will be back in action with a pair of road games this week, traveling to Evansville, Indiana to face Southern Indiana on Thursday, October 12 followed by a trip to Charleston, Illinois to play Eastern Illinois on Sunday, October 15.
