Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Manages 0-0 Draw with Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Chicago State men's soccer team dueled the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Phoenix Sunday afternoon, drawing, 0-0.

"I am happy with the effort from our young men," head coach Norris Howze said. "We lacked the technical quality at times throughout this game but I can't fault our efforts to see the 0-0 draw through. We have a much-deserved off day coming up. We will be ready to take on Detroit and get a result come Thursday."

Throughout the entirety of the match, both teams attacked and countered continuously, drawing multiple chances. However, neither was able to find the back of the net in a defensively dominated day.

The Cougars and Phoenix both produced only three shots each in the first half as most efforts made by both teams only produced strong passing play but no actual shots on goal.

In the second half, the shot count went up as tensions flared. The Cougars and Phoenix each took nine shots but failed to score.

The game remained 0-0 after a full 90 minutes of back-and-forth play, ending in a draw.

The Cougars next take on Detroit Mercy in Detroit at 3 p.m. on Thursday.
