Box Score The Chicago State men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Illinois State Wednesday afternoon at the H-F Racquet & Fitness Club in Homewood, Illinois. The doubles team of
Javier Sanchez Pradillo and
Pedro Alvarez picked up a win at No. 1 doubles but Redbirds victories at No. 2 and 3 earned the team point. Complete results below.
The match was originally scheduled for Friday, Feb. 4 at 9 a.m. and was to be a neutral-site contest played at the Atkins Tennis Center in Urbana, Illinois but was moved due to the blizzard and snow conditions in the area.
"I thought doubles was good today, just a few tactical errors, but nothing we couldn't over come in singles," head coach
Jack Barton said. "When we got to singles, we played well but ISU made a push and we just couldn't overcome it. We waited too long to get fully energized and by the time we tried to make a run we were too far behind. This match doesn't define us. We are a good team and we just have to focus on details in practice a little more."
The team will be back in action Saturday, Feb. 12 at 5 p.m. taking on Michigan State in East Lansing, Michigan at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility.
