Box Score The Chicago State women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Bradley this afternoon at the H-F Racquet and Fitness Club in Homewood. The No. 2 doubles team of
Cali Fuller and
Sofiya Sedovich picked up a 6-2 victory to open the match but a pair of 7-5 doubles victories went Bradley's way for the point.
In singles, three of the six matches went to a deciding third set with
Kristina Pukhaeva earning a 6-4, 3-6, 6-0 victory at No. 3 while
Katarina Drazic (No. 4) and
Sofiya Sedovich (No. 5) both dropped 6-4 third-set losses. Compete results below.
"We had an opportunity to take the doubles point but just couldn't capitalize," associate head coach
Adesuwa Osabuohien said. "We have a lot of mental work to do. I was especially pleased with Kristina (Pukhaeva) taking the third set of her match 6-0."
The women will be back in action with a pair of matches on Sunday, Feb. 6 at the H-F Racquet & Fitness Club in Homewood, Illinois. The Cougars will face St. Thomas at 9 a.m. then Saint Francis at 2 p.m.

About Chicago State
Chicago State University Athletics is comprised of 15 intercollegiate teams involving over 150 student-athletes that compete in basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, indoor and outdoor track and volleyball. CSU held memberships in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and NCAA Division II before transitioning to NCAA Division I in 1994. Melvin Bland was the first CSU student-athlete to gain NAIA All-American status in 1974 as a wrestler. Fred Evans became the first black swimmer ever to win a national championship in 1975. CSU's women's basketball team earned a spot in the 2011 Women's Basketball Invitational and CSU's men's basketball team won the 2013 Great West Conference Tournament title and made an appearance in the CollegeInside.com Postseason Tournament (CIT). In 2021, three different CSU teams earned victories over Big Ten opponents with men's soccer beating Northwestern, women's basketball upending Wisconsin and volleyball, which established a school record 17 wins and hosted a post-season volleyball tournament for the first time in program history, swept Indiana in Bloomington.
