Men's Soccer Suffers 3-0 Loss to Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, OH - The Chicago State men's soccer team faced off once again against the Bowling Green Falcons and suffered a 3-0 loss.

In the first half, the Cougars were pressed heavily and were quickly stunned as the Falcons broke through to open up the scoring very early at the 6th minute mark to go up 1-0.

Throughout the rest of the half, Chicago State defended brilliantly and managed to hold the Falcons lead at the minimum with a 1-0 score at the half.

To start the second half, the Falcons came out hot and quickly scored another to increase their lead to 2-0 at the 46th minute mark.

The Cougars produced several scoring chances however were unable to break through. Eventually, the Falcons countered and scored another to comfortably lead 3-0 which resulted in the final score of the match.

The Cougars next take on Western Michigan on October 29th at home at 5 P.M.

Chicago State University Athletics is comprised of 15 intercollegiate teams involving over 150 student-athletes that compete in basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, indoor and outdoor track and volleyball. Their feat marked the first time the Chicago State's men's track & field program was represented at the national meet. Chicago State volleyball recorded a historic season in 2021, with Yanlis Feliz becoming CSU's first volleyball All-American and head coach Tony Trifonov earning selection as WAC Coach of the Year. During that same season, three different CSU teams earned victories over Big Ten opponents with men's soccer beating Northwestern, women's basketball upending Wisconsin and volleyball, which established a school record 17 wins and hosted a post-season volleyball tournament for the first time in program history, swept Indiana in Bloomington.
