Chicago State Men's Tennis Drop 4-0 Decision at Illinois

Cougars Back in Action Jan. 28 against Eastern Illinois

Box Score
The Chicago State men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to the University of Illinois Saturday afternoon at the Atkins Tennis Center in Urbana, IL. The Illini captured the doubles point with a pair of wins then clinched the match with victories at No. 5, 2 and 6 singles, leaving three matches unfinished.

"These guys were riding high from their victory yesterday," head coach Jack Barton said. "We came in with confidence against a team that is in the top 25 in the nation and we played very well.

"We fought through some tough calls that didn't go our way. We got overruled a few times but that happens. We played some really good tennis and so we just have to learn how to overcome things that are not in our control and stay focused."

The Chicago State men's and women's tennis teams will host Eastern Illinois on Friday, Jan. 28 at the Park Forest Health & Fitness Club. The women are slated to start at 11:30 a.m. and the men will follow at 3 p.m.
