The NCAA is a membership-driven association and is governed by more than 150 committees with almost 1,500 committee members from NCAA institutions and conferences. Association-wide committees are comprised of individuals from all three divisions and consider issues that affect the NCAA across all divisions.

As a member of the NCAA Committee on Academics, Linders will sustain and advance the Association's mission, traditions, values and reputation.

The Division I Committee on Academics supports the primacy of the Association's academic mission through the management of Division I academics matters, including policy, eligibility standards, and the NCAA Division I Academic Performance Program (APP).  The Committee on Academics is chaired by a Division I president and consists of university presidents, a provost, faculty athletics representatives, directors of athletics, senior woman administrators, conference administrators and a student-athlete.
