The Chicago State women's basketball team will face both Florida International and Delaware as a part of a four-team tournament taking place in Miami over Thanksgiving weekend. The Cougars will battle FIU on Friday at 11 a.m. and then take on Delaware at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

WHAT'S HAPPENING Chicago State makes a Thanksgiving trip to Miami for the Florida International University Thanksgiving Tournament, which starts on Friday, November 26, an 11am Central matchup with host FIU followed up byr a Saturday showdown (also 11am) against Delaware.
ALL-TIME Chicago State will meet both FIU and Delaware for the first time ever.
LAST TIME OUT The Cougars earned the program's first win since Jan. 18, 2020, taking down Wisconsin, 71-63 in an overtime thriller in Madison. Freshman guard Aaliyah Collins poured in 25 points as the Cougars earned the first win of the Tiffany Sardin era and the program's first Big Ten win since 2008 vs. Northwestern.
"This means everything," Sardin said postgame. "We've been scratching and clawing. These young women showed a true testament of never giving up. It's all about the work. We trust the process to what I believe in and what our women are capable of doing. Like they said, we like to be as positive as possible. Our energy leads us. That's everything for us."

SIZING UP THE PANTHERS Led by head coach Jesyka Burks-Wiley, FIU enters 2-2, with the Panthers' wins coming against Kennesaw State and Florida Memorial. After six consecutive seasons with single-digit wins, FIU exploded for 15 last season, reaching the WBI and winning two games in the postseason tournament. Ariel Colón and Emerald Ekpieta lead the Panthers in scoring, each in double figures.
SIZING UP THE BLUE HENS Delaware travels to Miami with a 4-1 mark, its only loss coming to Princeton. After a 24-5 season last year, coach Natasha Adair's Blue Hens allow just 57.8 points per game and feature the spectacular Jasmine Dickey. The senior guard from Baltimore is scoring 25.8 ponts per game this season and has notched two double-doubles.
SQUAD UP Only three players from last season's roster return for Sardin's bunch: Christina Britter, Ana Haklicka and Laura Segues. Sardin has added two assistant coaches, Tiffany Conner and Diana Martinez, two freshman, Taylor Norris and Aaliyah Collins, and six transfers: Quentarra Mitchell, Nafa Haidara, Kyjai Miles, Janiah Newell, Jazmine Covington and Allysah "Cookie" Boothe.
