HOMEWOOD-FLOSSMOR, Ill. – The Chicago State women's tennis team knocked off Green Bay, 5-2, on Friday evening at the Homewood-Flossmor Racquet and Fitness Club. The Cougars had four singles wins and also earned the doubles points.
Diana Borodina (Moscow, Russia) picked up her fifth win in six matches with a three-set win at No. 2 singles. After dropping the first set 7-6(2), Borodina went to work and tied the match at 6-4 before clinching the victory with a 6-3 win.
Katarina Dukic's (Belgrade, Serbia ) match at No. 5 singles also went three sets. After dropping the first set 6-4, Dukic rallied and tied the match with a 6-4 win in the second set before closing the match with a decisive 6-0 win in the third set to clinch the match. Dukic's win also clinched the victory for the Cougars.
Susana Andres (Madrid, Spain) playing in her third singles match, won a decisive match at No. 6 singles with a 6-2, 6-2 victory. Andres has won each of her last two matches and moves to 2-1 on the season.
The Cougars won the doubles point as well with victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
