Men’s Tennis Falls to Illinois State

HOMEWOOD-FLOSSMOR, Ill. - The Chicago State men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 contest to Illinois State on Saturday afternoon. It was the second time the Cougars and Redbirds have met this spring, after meeting in Wisconsin to open spring slate.
 
Javier Sanchez Pradillio was a bright spot for the Cougars at No. 3 singles. Sanchez Pradillio was the first set 6-4 and put up a fight the remainder of the match, dropping the second set 6-3 and falling 10-6 in the tiebreaker. Jakov Suler (Zagreb, Croatia/Sportska Gimnazija) played well at No. 1, despite dropping the first set 6-3, Suler fought back in the second set but ultimately fell 7-6.
 
The Redbirds won singles matches No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 in straight sets.
 
The Cougars again struggled in doubles, dropping the doubles point after being swept at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles by scores of 6-1 and 6-3, respectively.
