KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Chicago State men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 road contest to Western Michigan on Friday afternoon.
The Cougars had good outings at No. 1 and No. 2 singles from
Jakov Suler (Zagreb, Croatia/Sportska Gimnazija) and
Jesus Perez Plaza (Madrid, Spain/). Suler played Broncos No. 1 Jannick Opitz close dropping the match with 7-5 losses in both the first and second set.
Perez played tough against WMU's Kennosuke Nouchi. Nouchi won the first set 6-2 but needed a 7-5 tiebreaker in the second set to earn the victory, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5).
The remainder of the singles matches were straight set victories for the Broncos.
The Cougars also dropped the doubles point as the Broncos defeated Chicago State in each of the matches.
