Homewood-Flossmor, Ill. - The Chicago State men's tennis team earned its first win of the 2020 spring season with a decisive 6-1 win over Prairie State College on Sunday afternoon at Homewood-Flossmor Racquet and Fitness on Sunday morning.
The Cougars won singles matches in No. 1-3 with each match being decided by straight sets.
Jakub Zamorski (Boguchwala, Poland/) cruised to a win at No. 5 singles by a score of 6-0, 6-1 and
Jesus Perez Plaza (Madrid, Spain/) also earned a 6-2,6-0 straight sets victory over Victor Dietiens.
Jakub Zamorski (Boguchwala, Poland/) and
Javier Sanchez Pradillo (Toledo, Spain/) also earned victories at No. 3 and No. 4 singles.
Jakov Suler (Zagreb, Croatia/Sportska Gimnazija) won No. 1 singles, 7-5, 6-1 over Marek Sloweki and while Sloweki gave him a battle in the first set Suler pulled it out 7-5 and took the match in a dominating 6-1 in the second set.
The Cougars opened the match by winning the doubles point. Chicago State earned decisive doubles wins at No. 2 and No. 3. The pairs of
Cody Wurzelbacher (Toledo, Ohio/Springfield) and
Pedja Kolaric (Birkenfeld, Germany/) and Jakum Zamorski and Javier Snachez Pradillio both defeated their opponents by a score of 6-1. Prairie State earned the win at No. 1 doubles by a score of 6-4.
