Champaign, Ill. - The Chicago State men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 contest to in-state foe Illinois in Champaign on Saturday.
The Cougars couldn't get much of anything going against the Fighting Illini as all the singles matches were decided in straight sets. Doubles was decided with wins from the host Ilini at No. 2 and No. 2. Illinois won No. 2 double by a score of 6-4 and No. 3 doubles by a score of 6-3.
Singles was tough for the Cougars. Illinois extended its lead as Javier Sanchez Padilla was defeated 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles and Illinois' Fletcher Scott defeated
Jakub Zamorski (Boguchwala, Poland/), 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. The match was decided after the Illini was No. 5 singles.
