CHICAGO – Chicago State volleyball rookie
Josi Borum (Sterling, IL ) earned her tenth double-double of the season during the Cougars 3-0 conference setback to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), Thursday night at home.
The Vaqueros finished the Western Athletic Conference sweep over the Cougars, 25-20, 25-12, 25-23.
CSU returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 19 as the Cougars hosts the New Mexico State Aggies inside the Jacoby Dickens Center at 12 p.m.
CSU HIGHLIGHTS & STATS:
- - Borum led the Cougars with 10 kills and finished with 12 assists, while falling four digs short of a triple-double.
- - Kirah Williams Shepherd and Beatriz Palmieri (Ribeirao Preto, Sao Paulo, Brazil/Professora Carlina Cacapava de Mello) trailed Borum on the offensive end with seven and six kills respectively, as Lacee Adams (Muncie, Ind./Muncie Central) had a team-best 18 assists.
- - On the defensive side, senior libero Megan Klavitter (Fenton, MI) collected a team best 15 digs and Alexandria Cliff (Manitowoc, Wis./Roncalli) earned three blocks.
