Soccer Concludes Road Swing with 3-0 Defeat at South Dakota

VERMILLION, S.D. – The Chicago State women's soccer team concluded a three-game road swing here today with a 3-0 defeat to host South Dakota at the Family Bank and Trust Soccer Complex.

The Coyotes broke a scoreless tie in the 31st minute with a goal from Kellee Willer off an assist from Alexis Mitchell and went into halftime ahead by a 1-0 margin.
 
Willer struck again with her second goal of the game in the 66th minute to increase USD's advantage to 2-0. The home team closed the scoring in the 88th minute when Dani Brown converted a goal.  
 
The Green and White were led by freshman Aanika Stevens (Boise, Idaho/Centennial) as she produced a team-high three shot attempts and fellow freshman Judith Sorribes (Barcelona, Spain/Bisbe Berenguer) produced four saves in goal during her collegiate debut.
 
The Cougars open the home portion of their schedule at Gwendolyn Brooks H.S. Field on Friday, Aug. 31 with an in-state battle against SIU Edwardsville that kicks off at 1 p.m.
