Wattley and Botha Capture Doubles Win for CSU in Home Finale

HOMEWOOD, Ill. – Senior Rohan Wattley (Slough, United Kingdom/Burnham) and freshman George Botha (Craddock, South Africa/Gray College Secondary School) captured a win in doubles play for the Chicago State men's tennis team as it concluded the second Western Athletic Conference cluster here at the H-F Racquet and Fitness Club Sunday with a 7-0 defeat to Grand Canyon.

It was also senior day for the Green and White as Wattley and fellow senior Christian Gonzalez (Mungia, Spain/Larramendi Ikastola) were honored in a pre-match ceremony for their contributions to the program for the past four years.

Wattley and Botha recorded a 6-3 win in their No. 2 doubles flight over Lucas Grego and Valentin Lang for their second straight victory on the weekend.

GCU would then capture the No. 1 and No. 3 flights for the doubles point to take an early 1-0 match lead then win all six singles flights for the victory.

The Cougars close out their regular season on April 22 with a non-conference road match at Purdue.
