OPENING TIP: The Chicago State women's basketball team concludes its 2017-18 regular season schedule tomorrow afternoon with senior day against Western Athletic Conference foe UMKC at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center with the opening tip set for 1 p.m.

SCOUTING CSU: Chicago State heads into senior day with its last home contest of the season after falling to New Mexico State (55-63) and UT Rio Grande Valley (62-67) in a pair of close conference home games last week. Freshman guard Tyeshia Bowers (Flint, Mich./Southwestern) leads CSU with averages of 11.9 points and 2.5 assists per game followed by redshirt senior guard Phylicia Johnson (Columbus, Ohio/Pickerington Central) as she is second on the team in scoring (11.8 ppg) and assists (2.4 apg). Redshirt sophomore forward Ines Mata Boix (Madrid, Spain) is shooting 50 percent (111-of-224) from the field, grabbing 8.1 rebounds, posting 1.9 blocked shots and tallying 1.6 steals a game to lead the Green and White while placing third on the team with 9.4 points per game.

SCOUTING UMKC: UMKC enters the JCC with a record of 10-18 on the year with a 6-7 conference mark after earning a split in its last two home games last week with a 79-59 win over UTRGV followed by a 76-67 loss to NM State. The Kangaroos have three players scoring double figure averages with senior guard Aries Washington producing a team-leading 17.3 points per game. Redshirt junior Kristen Moore is producing a team-high 6.2 rebounds per game to go along with scoring 14 points a game, and senior guard Samantha Waldron is recording 12.2 points and a team-leading 2.4 steals per game.

SERIES HISTORY: Tomorrow's game will serve as the 43rd all-time meeting on the court between CSU and UMKC with the Kangaroos producing a 33-9 advantage following their 106-47 victory in the teams' first meeting of the season in Kansas City on Feb. 17, 2017.

THREE COUGARS TO BE HONORED ON SENIOR DAY: Senior guard Destiny Harris (Crete, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor), redshirt senior guard Konner Harris (Sidney, Ohio/Sidney) and Johnson will be honored in a senior day ceremony prior to tomorrow's game.

WAC TOURNEY TICKETS ON SALE: Tickets for the 2018 WAC Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas are now on sale. The tournament starts on Wednesday, March 7 with the women's first round of play, followed by a full day of men's action on Thursday, March 8. The championship games will be contested on Saturday, March 10. Currently available for purchase are $135 and $85 all-session passes, which consist of entry into 14 games over six sessions. COUGARS SIGN TWO FOR 2018-19: The Green and White bolstered their roster for 2018-19 by signing a pair of student-athletes during the early signing period in 6-foot-1 center Christina Alexander and 5-foot-8 guard Taylor Robinson. Alexander helped Martinville (Ind.) High School claim a regional title in her junior season, while Robinson averaged 10 points and four rebounds a game last season at Bolingbrook (Ill.) High School.

UP NEXT: The Green and White travel to Las Vegas next week for the WAC Tournament, held at the Orleans Arena. CSU, seeded eighth in the tournament, will take on the top seed in the third quarterfinal on Wednesday, March 7 in a live broadcast on ESPN 3 with a start time of 8 p.m., central time.
