OPENING TIP: Chicago State women's basketball opens a three-game homestand at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center on Thursday night as it hosts defending Western Athletic Conference champion New Mexico State in a Play 4 Kay game that tips off live at 7 p.m. on the WAC Digital Network.

SCOUTING CSU: CSU looks to close its 2017-18 regular season slate with its final homestand of the season after it concluded a three-game road swing last Saturday afternoon at UMKC. Leading the Green and White on the offensive end is freshman guard Tyeshia Bowers (Flint, Mich./Southwestern), who is averaging team highs of 12.2 points and 2.5 assists per game while redshirt senior guard Phylicia Johnson (Columbus, Ohio/Pickerington Central) ranks second on the team with 11.5 points and 2.2 assists a game. Redshirt sophomore forward Ines Mata Boix (Madrid, Spain) tops CSU in rebounds (8.1 rpg), blocked shots (1.8 bpg), steals (1.6 spg) and field goal percentage (.490) while also posting a scoring average of 9.5 points a game.

SCOUTING NMSU: New Mexico State brings a 14-11 record into Thursday's game with an 8-3 conference mark following a pair of home wins last week against Seattle (59-51) and Utah Valley (64-53). The Aggies are led by junior guard Brooke Salas with averages of 19 points, 2.1 steals and 1.8 blocked shots a game. Sophomore forward Gia Pack, the reigning WAC Player of the Week, is producing 15.2 points and a team-best eight rebounds per game followed by senior guard Zaire Williams dishing out a team-leading 5.2 assists per game.

SERIES HISTORY: NMSU has won all nine meetings with CSU since the Cougars joined the WAC in 2013-14 which includes a 4-59 win in Las Cruces on Jan. 6. Bowers led all scorers with 27 points, while Mata Boix recorded a double-double of 14 rebounds and 10 points.

WAC TOURNEY TICKETS ON SALE: Tickets for the 2018 WAC Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas are now on sale. The tournament starts on Wednesday, March 7 with the women's first round of play, followed by a full day of men's action on Thursday, March 8. PLAY 4 KAY: Thursday's game marks as the Cougars' Play 4 Kay game which raises awareness for Breast Cancer in the month of February in honor of the late North Carolina State head coach Kay Yow. All fans attending the game are encouraged to wear pink to show support of this cause.
