Opening Tip – The Chicago State women's basketball team returns to action tomorrow afternoon following final exams to take on SIU Edwardsville in an in-state showdown at the Jacoby Dickens Center beginning at 2 p.m.
 
Scouting CSU – CSU comes into tomorrow's game sporting a season record of 0-7 and is playing its first game in 10 days after dropping a close 76-70 decision to Valparaiso on Nov. 29 at the Jacoby Dickens Center. The Green and White are led by sophomore guard Tyeshia Bowers (Flint, Mich./Southwestern) as she currently averages 17.4 points and 3.1 assists per game. Junior forward Ines Mata Boix (Madrid, Spain/) leads the Western Athletic Conference in field-goal percentage (.553), rebounds (13.0 rpg) and blocked shots (3.3 bpg) to go along with posting a team-best 1.6 steals per contest.

Scouting SIUE – Playing the sixth game of a nine-game road swing, SIUE brings a 3-3 season record into the JDC following last night's 56-43 defeat at Loyola Chicago. Sophomore guard/forward Allie Troeckler is averaging team highs of 9.3 points and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 83 percent from the free throw line and 43 percent from the field. Senior center Sydney Bauman is producing 10.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocked shots a game in addition to ranking second on the team with 8.3 points per game.
 
Series History – SIUE has posted a 6-1 lead in the all-time series with Chicago State and tomorrow's meeting will be the first in 10 years between the two schools. The Green and White captured the last meeting in Chicago with a 69-56 win on Dec. 2, 2008 at the Jones Convocation Center behind a double-double from Jasmin Dixon of 25 points and 12 rebounds.
 
Closing in on a Milestone – Bowers is closing in on her first collegiate milestone as she has tallied 481 career points and needs 19 points to tally her 500th career point heading into tomorrow's game.

Dual-Sport Athletes – The Cougars have three dual-sport athletes on the roster this season in junior forward Alexandria Cliff (Manitowoc, Wis./Roncalli), freshman forward Kayla Malec (Spring Grove, Ill./Richmond-Burton) and freshman guard Aanika Stevens (Boise, Idaho/Centennial). Cliff and Malec are members of the CSU volleyball team while Stevens competed this fall as a defender on the women's soccer team. Cliff has played in the last three games, while Malec and Stevens have yet to see action this season.
