CHICAGO - 

Opening Tip – Chicago State women's basketball travels to Madison, Wis., to open a four-game road swing Wednesday night against Wisconsin at the Kohl Center live on BTN2Go with the opening tip set for 7 p.m.
 
Scouting CSU – The Green and White bring a season record of 0-8 into Madison after closing their short homestand last Saturday with an 82-66 defeat to SIU Edwardsville at the Jacoby Dickens Center despite receiving a season-best 23 points from freshman guard Kourtney Crane (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods). CSU is led offensively by sophomore guard Tyeshia Bowers (Flint, Mich./Southwestern) (16.1 ppg, 3.0 apg) and defensively by junior forward Ines Mata Boix (Madrid, Spain/) (12.4 rpg, 3.3 bpg, 1.5 spg). Crane is second on the team in scoring at 10.1 points per game in addition to shooting a team-leading 85 percent from the free throw line.
 
Scouting WIS – Wisconsin heads into the game sporting a record of 7-3 on the year after posting a split last week with a 67-49 home win over Marshall and a 55-46 loss at in-state foe Green Bay. Senior forward Marsha Howard is averaging a double-double of 13.2 points and 10 rebounds a game to lead the Badgers as well as posting a team-best 1.1 steals per contest. Freshman forward Imani Lewis is second on the team with a scoring average of 12.4 points a game, while junior guard Kendra Van Leeuwen is the team leader in assists as she is dishing out 2.6 per game.
 
Series History – Wisconsin leads the all-time series against Chicago State by a 6-0 margin with Wednesday's meeting marking the first contest between the two schools in 26 years. The Badgers posted an 82-66 victory over the Cougars in Madison on Dec. 8, 1992.

Closing in on a Milestone – Bowers is closing in on her first collegiate milestone as she has tallied 498 career points and is two points shy of tallying her 500th career point.
 
WAC Leader – Mata Boix currently leads the Western Athletic Conference in rebounds per game, blocked shots per game and field-goal percentage (.553). Heading into the season, she was the conference's top returning rebounder after averaging 8.2 boards per game in 2017-18.
