Klavitter Moves into WAC’s All-Time Top 10 Dig Leaders vs. CSUB

CHICAGO – Continuing in her quest to put her name among the Western Athletic Conference's all-time leaders for career digs, junior Megan Klavitter (Fenton, Mich./Linden) tallied a match-best 31 digs today in leading the Chicago State volleyball team today as it dropped a 3-1 decision to visiting CSU Bakersfield at the Jacoby Dickens Center.
 
The 31 digs moved Klavitter to ninth on the league's career list with a total of 1,430 after capturing CSU's Division I career record last month.
 
CSUB recorded a 2-0 advantage going into intermission after taking the first set by a score of 25-21 and earning a 25-18 second-set victory. The Green and White posted a 25-18 win in the third set before the Roadrunners used a 25-22 win in the fourth set to win the match.
 
In addition to Klavitter, junior Beatriz Palmieri (Ribeirao Preto, Sao Paulo, Brazil/Professora Carlina Cacapava de Mello) and senior Lauryn Dela Cruz (Provo, Utah/Timpview) also finished the match with double-doubles. Palmieri notched 15 digs and 11 kills followed by Dela Cruz as she recorded 14 kills and 10 digs.
 
Sophomore Lacee Adams (Muncie, Ind./Muncie Central) dished out a match-leading 31 assists, while fellow sophomore Summer Farris (Farmington Hills, Mich./North Farmington) added seven kills and six total blocks (three solo, three assisted) for Chicago State (8-21, 2-10).
 
CSUB (13-13, 6-7) received double-doubles from Sidney Wicks (29 assists, 11 digs), Desiree Vukhov (15 kills, 12 digs), Leisa Elisaia (25 assists, 12 digs).
 
CSU continues its three-match homestand on Thursday, Nov. 8 with a WAC showdown versus Seattle U that begins with the first serve at 7 p.m.
