CHICAGO - The Chicago State women's basketball team begins a three-game Western Athletic Conference game road swing in the state of Washington on Thursday night with a conference contest against host Seattle at the Connolly Center with a start time of 9 p.m.

SCOUTING CSU – Chicago State enters its final road swing of the season after last Saturday's 65-54 defeat to league-leading New Mexico State at the Jones Convocation Center with sophomore guard/forward Kaylee Allen (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods) leading CSU with 20 points and eight rebounds. Allen is posting team highs of 14.6 points and 6.7 rebounds while connecting on 74 percent of her free throw attempts. Redshirt junior guard Jessica Cerda (Streamwood, Ill./Streamwood) is second on the team with a scoring average of 10 points a game. Senior guard Cailin Nix (Martinsville, Ind./Martinsville) leads the Green and White in field goal percentage (.454), assists (2.1 apg) and steals (1.8 spg) while averaging nine points per game.

SCOUTING SU – Seattle, winners of four of its last five games since Jan. 14, enter this week's action with a 9-13 season record and currently sits in second place in the WAC thanks to a 6-1 conference ledger following a 69-51 win at Utah Valley last Saturday. SU is led by senior wing Alexis Montgomery, who received earned her WAC Player of the Week accolades on Monday after recording a double-double of 17 rebounds and 10 rebounds at UVU. Montgomery is averaging 16.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game, while fellow senior wing Kaylee Best is second in scoring with an average of 13.6 points a game.

SERIES HISTORY – Seattle holds an 8-3 lead all-time against Chicago State and has captured wins in eight of the last nine meetings since 2011-12. The Redhawks were victorious in the teams' first meeting of the season in Chicago on Jan. 14 by a score of 64-51.

NIX RECORDS 500TH POINT – After scoring 14 points last Saturday against New Mexico State, Nix recorded her 500th collegiate point and has now tallied 507 points for her CSU career.

CSU SCHOLAR-ATHLETES – Seven members of the CSU women's basketball team were selected as CSU Scholar-Athletes for maintaining a 3.0 or better GPA during the year 2016. The honorees this season are Allen, Cerda, Nix, junior Destiny Harris (Crete, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor), senior Konner Harris (Sidney, Ohio/Sidney), sophomore Tiana Thomas (Rockton, Ill./Hononegah) and sophomore Ines Mata. In addition, freshman Alexandria Cliff (Manitowoc, Wis./Roncalli) was honored as a member of the CSU volleyball team.

UP NEXT – The Green and White continue their road swing on Saturday night against rival Utah Valley in a WAC showdown at Lockhart Arena in Orem with a start time of 8 p.m.
