CSU Men’s Tennis Continues Homestand against Green Bay

HOMEWOOD, Ill. – The Chicago State men's tennis team continued its current homestand here today as it faced off against Green Bay at the H-F Racquet and Fitness Club. The Phoenix posted a 7-0 victory in the contest.
 
UWGB swept all three doubles matches early on to post a 1-0 lead. The Green and White's No. 2 tandem of sophomore Felix Savard (Laval, QC Canada/Saint-Gabriel) and junior Rohan Wattley (Slough, United Kingdom/Burnham) fell to Florian Kraenzler and Charlie Rideout by a close 6-4 margin.
 
Savard later battled Kraenzler in grueling three-set battle at No. 1 singles before falling via scores of 6-3, 3-6 and 10-7.
 
Junior Christian Gonzalez (Mungia, Spain/Larramendi Ikastola) also had a three-set showdown against Mike McDowall in the No. 4 singles match before dropping the contest by scores of 7-6, 6-7 (0) and 10-4.
 
The Cougars host NCAA Division II member Saint Joseph's (Ind.) and Big Ten Conference member Michigan State at the H-F Fitness and Racquet Club on Feb. 11 with start times of 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
