OPENING TIP: The Chicago State women's basketball team returns to action on this afternoon at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center as it hosts Morehead State to conclude a four-game homestand with the tip-off set for 2 p.m.

SCOUTING CSU: Chicago State heads into today's contest with a record of 0-5 after falling to Western Illinois on Wednesday by a score of 83-45 despite redshirt sophomore forward Ines Mata Boix producing her third straight double-double with a career-high 16 rebounds and 14 points. Mata Boix leads CSU with averages of 14.0 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.0 blocked shots and 2.8 steals per game while shooting 58 percent from the field. Freshman guard Tyeshia Bowers (11.2 ppg) and redshirt senior guard Phylicia Johnson (10.5 ppg) are second and third on the team in scoring while Johnson is dishing out a team-best 3.5 assists a game.

SCOUTING MOR: Morehead State comes to the JCC today with a 2-3 record after kicking off its short road swing on Wednesday with an 86-53 loss at No. 22 Kentucky. Five players are averaging double figure scoring for the Eagles with senior forward Eriel McKee leading the pack by posting 14 points a game. Chicago nativeand  junior center Tierra McGowan is recording a double-double average with 14.4 rebounds and 11.4 points per contest, while redshirt junior guard Darianne Seward is producing 5.2 assists a game to go along with scoring 10 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY: Today's game marks the third contest between CSU and Morehead State with the series being tied at 1-1. The Eagles claimed a 63-55 win over the Cougars at Johnson Arena in Morehead, Ky., on Nov. 26, 2016 as Sh'Toya Sanders posted a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Green and White.

WAC LEADER: Mata Boix leads the Western Athletic Conference leaderboard in blocked shots and offensive rebounds (4.2 orpg) while sitting in a tie for first in rebounds with Seattle's Alexis Montgomery and ranks second in field-goal percentage (.577).

DOUBLE DIPPING: Mata Boix recorded her third double-double on the young season in Wednesday's Western Illinois game after grabbing a career-high 16 rebounds and scoring 14 points. She currently sits in a tie for 14th in the NCAA Division I rankings.

UP NEXT: CSU travels to Macomb, Ill., on Wednesday night to battle Western Illinois at Western Hall in a rematch from last week's home contest in a live ESPN 3 broadcast with a start time of 7 p.m.
