Box Score CHICAGO – Redshirt sophomore Ines Mata Boix shined in her first game with the Chicago State women's basketball team tonight at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center as the host Cougars faced off against Big Ten Conference foe Northwestern with the Wildcats posting a 63-36 victory in a battle of Chicago-area teams.
Mata Boix tallied career highs of 14 points, five rebounds and three steals for CSU while hitting seven of her 12 field goal attempts.
Redshirt senior Phylicia Johnson added eight points and dished out a career-best five assists, and freshman Tamara Olverson tied Mata Boix for top team rebounding honors with five boards.
Northwestern had three players score in double figures with Lindsay Pulliam leading the way with a game-high 18 points.
The Cougars travel downstate to Champaign on Wednesday, Nov. 15 to take on Illinois at the State Farm Center with a start time of 7 p.m.
